Private Girls Basketball Rankings: Lutheran North Joins Area Best

Last week’s action changed the landscape for private school girls basketball. In the latest round of rankings, check out the squads that excelled, and those that need bounce back performances!

Lutheran High North

Lutheran North is playing its best ball of the season.

1. Kinkaid (16-3): The Falcons beat a good Concordia Lutheran squad last week, and nearly knocked off Australia’s Hawthorn Magic Basketball Club. (Previous: 1)

2. St. Agnes (20-7): The Tigers took care of Episcopal, Bellaire, and Duchesne last week. (Previous: 2)

3. Houston Christian (19-5): The Mustangs earned a big win against fellow ranked squad Village. (Previous: 4)

4. Concordia Lutheran (19-6): The Crusaders lost to No. 1 Kinkaid for their second defeat in three games. (Previous: 3)

5. The Woodlands Christian (13-5): The Warriors lost to Lutheran High North, but bounced back against Bay Area Christian. (Previous: 6)

6. The Village School (19-6): The Vikings have lost five of their last seven games. (Previous: 5)

7. Second Baptist (14-12): The Eagles ended their three-game skid with a win against Westbury Christian. (Previous: 7)

8. Beaumont Legacy Christian (16-8): The Warriors bounced back against Brazos Christian. (Previous: 8)

9. Incarnate Word (14-5): The Falcons won their district opener against Monsignor Kelly. (Previous: 10)

10. Lutheran High North (8-6): The Lions have won six of their last eight games, including an upset of The Woodlands Christian Academy last week. (Previous: NR)

Fell out:

Legacy Preparatory Christian (14-4): The Lions took care of business against Providence Classical, but their upset loss against Rosehill Christian couldn’t keep them in the rankings. (Previous: 9)

Honorable mentions: Frassati Catholic (11-4), Southwest Christian (10-2), St. John’s (10-6), Bryan St. Joseph (11-11), Rosehill Christian (7-7)
