A quick look back on everything that’s gone down.
Daryl Morey has been a busy man this past week and it can all be slightly confusing, but we’re here to give you the skinny and recap everything that has gone down.
Dec. 28: With an open roster spot, Rockets sign Gerald Green to a non-guaranteed deal. All non-guaranteed deals become guaranteed on January 7, in ten days time. The Rockets have unofficially given Gerald Green a ten-day contract.
Jan. 4: After back-to-back 20-point performances, Rockets unofficially decide they will guarantee Gerald Green’s contract on Sunday.
Jan. 4: Bobby Brown is waived, thus leaving the Rockets with an open roster spot. Brown will likely clear waivers, and will be eligible to be re-signed later in the season.
Jan. 6: Demetrius Jackson’s two-way contract is terminated. Each team is designated a pair of two-way contracts. Briante Weber is under a two-way contract, but now the Rockets have an extra two-way contract where they can sign anyone they wish. They will likely give it to someone after the G-League Showcase.
Jan. 6: Rockets use their open roster spot vacated by Bobby Brown to sign Demetrius Jackson to a ten-day contract. Jackson will be assigned to Rio Grande Valley and will play with the team in the G-League Showcase.
Jan. 7: Gerald Green’s contract officially becomes guaranteed. He will make $1.4 million for the rest of the season.
Jan. 10-13: G-League Showcase in Mississauga, Ontario. Rockets will likely sign a player to a two-way deal during the Showcase or directly after.
