Swinging For The Fence: Tomball Memorial Is On The Rise

Northwest Houston baseball is a few weeks old, so it’s time for the first in-season rankings. The top storylines so far are the continued dominance of Cy Ranch, the rising programs of Tomball Memorial and Cy Woods, and Concordia Lutheran’s slow start out of the gate. Check out the area’s top 10 and honorable mentions, and come back weekly for the latest standings!

Memorial’s talent is showing.

1. Cypress Ranch (12-2-2): The Mustangs already have two win streaks of at least five games. (Preseason: 1)

2. Tomball (7-4-1): The Cougars’ slow start to the season was balanced by a 3-1 stretch the past four games. (Preseason: 2)

3. Tomball Memorial (11-3): The Wildcats started the season 9-0, but have lost three of the past five games. (Preseason: 6)

4. Cypress Woods (12-5-1): The Wildcats won 12 of their first 15 games, but lost their next three outings. (Preseason: 5)

5. Cypress Christian (10-5): The Warriors split with two of SPC’s best last week, so their five-game win streak came to an end. (Preseason: 9)

6. Rosehill Christian (6-5): The Eagles have taken a step back, after an up-and-down start to the season. (Preseason: 3)

7. Langham Creek (6-6-3): The Lobos don’t have a streak (win, lose, or tie) longer than two games this season. (Preseason: 4)

8. Cypress Creek (8-7-1): The Cougars are heating up, after five wins in their past six games. (Preseason: 10)

9. Jersey Village (7-6-3): The Falcons are 3-1-1 in their last five games. (Preseason: NR)

10. Concordia Lutheran (5-7): The Crusaders have three straight dubs. (Preseason: 7)
